Sales Staff Member
We are looking for a new permanent full-time member of staff for our retail shop.
Workshop DIY has been established in Thornton for 46 years, and we pride ourselves in giving a high standard of service to our customers.
Applicants should be focused, keen and able to work as part of a team.
- Basic 37.5 hours per week, with 28 days paid holiday (including 8 days bank Holiday)
- Rates of pay – 21 years old and above (£11.44 per hour); 20 years old and below (£8.60 per hour)
- Pension Scheme available for qualifying employees
Desirable qualities
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to serve customers politely and efficiently
- Ability to work as both a team and independently
- Smart and professional appearance
- Willing to undertake training
- Willing to work weekends and bank holidays
- Preferably non-smoker
You will be given personal training, focusing on:
- Health and safety issues
- Formal training for use of woodworking and key cutting machinery
- Procedures for handling cash and credit/debit, and using the tills
- How to document goods to account customers
- Observing our equality and diversity program within the company
